Housing starts jumped bout 22% from January which is very good news.

The actual number may be small but the news itself is positive.

Most of the Home builders stocks I have checked are up and the overall sentiment is positive.

City group and Bank of America are still in the green; both these stocks are in the most active category.

There are a lot of double digit losers who made the day red.

AIG remained as the target for political and non political target.  Obama pledged to fight AIG’s bonuses.

AIG giving big bonuses is the only dark cloud, making the history in the corporate greed.

It is tempting to get in, but I would like to watch and get a clear direction then rushing in.

Looks like after a long time I can dare to log back in to my 401k account and check on it.

It’s been few months that I could dare to do that..  I could not sell and could not look at it.

It is kind of breather for all the investors.  Good for the ones that caught the low.

Banking sector is still doing good led by Bank of America.

City group went up as well.

 

All three stocks mentioned are in the most active list for today.

 

Let us hope for a positive Friday tomorrow.

Final result being Green on all three boards but not significant at all.

Look at the bright side, we did not loose any more money.

We can say sofar March seems to be in the positive which is a good news

City group made the history by turning the stocks to Green (all major indexes are up)

+379.44 for DOW – WoW

 

Nasdaq went up 7% and S&P 500 about 6.4 %

 

This wipes out all the losses from Monday and last week..

Making the March an even to little positive month.

 

GE has gone up 20% - and looks like their disclosure gave the confidence.

 

 

Wish to see few more days like this..

 

Sentiment is still week: During lunch I was in the Lunch room and one of our friends is yelling time to sell time to sell, Stocks are up sell now.

Hope she is wrong.

Still it is exiting to see green on all major boards.

 

Oil jumped to $48.00 a barrel, which may kind of put a spoke in the wheel.  OPEC may be doing what they think is best for them.  But as the world is struggling to get back on line, I wish they wait for few months or until the end of the year to make any significant moves.

 

Job cuts are still going on and saw one of the noted bears coming and saying we are starting to buy.

 

Barry Rithotz said he says some selector like Banking and Home builder (the two sectors he mentioned) lost about 80% in their value which is historically the most a sector can shared which makes a good buy.  Based on the fact that they don’t have much to loose and more to gain.

 

Use caution and judgment and start your investment on a slow and study basis.

Investors are not confident – sentiment is still week.

 

We need some kind of catalyst that would boost the investor confidence.  Americans showed lots of it towards Obama and elected him.

 

Where did that confidence go?

Why the investors are are not showing the same confidence now?

What is the president doing wrong? 

What does he need to do to bring the confidence back?

I only have questions and could not find any answers!

Kind of sad but when the big rock is falling nothing can hold it back, just say clear of the rock.

A very rough week for any one in the market ended with a net loss about 300 points and ended with a green color. (Not green for the week)  It is kind of good sign so people can be hopping for a better Monday.

 

Job loss increasing (Unemployment rate is at 25 year high at 8.1%)

GM shares hit 75 Year low.

 

There is a chance that the investors start coming back to the market, while no one can predict the bottom before the stats comes in.
